NSK can provide a full range of adapters, withdrawal sleeves, nuts and washers for the mounting of bearings with tapered bores onto shafts with cylindrical seatings.
NSK adapters and withdrawal sleeves are slotted and have an external taper of 1:12. Their design means that a reduction in shaft tolerances can be tolerated.
Adapters are more common as they are easier to mount than withdrawal sleeves and do not require any additional axial restraint on the shaft.
Bearings fitted with withdrawal sleeves, however, must be mounted against a fixed abutment, such as a shoulder on the shaft, and secured in position with a locknut or end-plate.
All NSK adapters are supplied complete with lock nut and locking device. The nuts required for dismounting withdrawal sleeves are also available from NSK but must be ordered separately.
